Estimates, not a stamped load calculation
The calculators here are planning tools. They use published methods and typical assumptions; they are not an ACCA Manual J calculation performed by a licensed contractor, and no permit office will accept their output in place of one. Equipment selection, duct design, gas sizing, venting and electrical work are governed by the mechanical code in force where the job is, and by the manufacturer's installation instructions.
Safety
Do not use anything on this site to justify working on live electrical circuits, gas piping, combustion venting or a sealed refrigerant system without the licence, certification and equipment the work requires. Refrigerant handling in the United States requires EPA Section 608 certification.
Costs move
Every price, wage, rebate and code figure on the site carries the date it was read and the source it came from. Equipment pricing, refrigerant availability and tax credits all change; check the primary source before you quote a customer.
Use of the material
Read it, print it, use it on the job. Do not republish the pages wholesale. Trademarks and brand names belong to their owners and appear here only to identify equipment.
